On 14th April 2014, the 35 County and City Enterprise Boards throughout Ireland were dissolved after 20 years, and 31 Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) have been established within the Local Authority structure. The five staff of Leitrim County Enterprise Board have transferred to the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Leitrim and remain the point of contact for all enterprise queries in Co. Leitrim.

The LEO Leitrim continues to build on the work already done by Leitrim County Enterprise Board and has an extended brief to assist more people setting up and growing businesses in the county. The Local Enterprise Office Leitrim is the First Stop Shop for anyone seeking information and support on starting or growing a business in Leitrim. An initiative of the Action Plan for Jobs, Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) are committed to delivering an enhanced and more integrated support service for micro and small business in Ireland.

The financial supports as well as the training and mentoring services that were available through Leitrim County Enterprise Board continue to be available through the Local Enterprise Office, with additional supports which include the Jobs Fair held in June, Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur and the Online Trading Voucher Scheme to name but a few.

The new Local Enterprise Office, while still based in Carrick on Shannon has moved from The Hive to its new office at Áras an Chontae, Leitrim County Council and LEO staff are available to meet with clients in a dedicated LEO meeting room and continue to operate the monthly outreach offices in Manorhamilton.
